¡¡¡¡This Association is abided by the laws and regulations of the state;it im-plements the shipping policies formulated by the government and carries out activities centered on providing services to the shipping agency trade. At present, we have 380 companies registered as
our members, among whom 56 are council members, while 35 are members of the standing council. The Secretariat is the organization to carry on the routine work, it has a general office,a shipping agency department, a liaison department and an informati-on department, and a NVOCC Committee of China Association of Shipping Agencies & Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carriers. Besides, the association has established offices in Shanghai, Shandong and Guangzhou(under preparation).¡¡

¡¡¡¡The objectives of China Association of Shipping Agencies & Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carriers are: to act as a "bridge of liaison" linking up our trade with the government; to reflect the wishes and aspirations of our members; to safeguard the legitszimate rights and interests of the members; to maintain a market environment favourable for fair competition. Besides, as entrusted by the government, this Association is engaged in the administration of the shipping agency business as a trade and offer assistance to the government in this area. This Association also coordinates the management of the shipping agencies and NVOCCs, and to assist our members to raise the level of management of agency business, besides offering quality agency services to our principals and promoting the development of shipping of this country, purporting to meet the requirements of the nation in the development of economy and expansion of foreign trade and transportation.

¡¡¡¡China Association of Shipping Agencies & Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carriers shall ,in addition, strengthen the exchanges and cooperations with its foreign shipping agency friends, and take an active part in the international conferences and activities relating to shipping and strife to build up and coordinate the relationship between all the parties concerned, and to make continued unswerving efforts to contrib-ute to the common prosperity of the maritime transportation industry of the world.
